Cartridge, disposable, or flower: picking a THCA format

The hardest part of buying from this shelf is not choosing a strain. It is realising that a cartridge, a disposable, flower and an edible are four unrelated kinds of purchase that happen to be filed together. One needs hardware you may not own. One is finished the moment it is empty. One needs preparation before it is anything at all. This guide sorts them by what they ask of you.

The one question that sorts the shelf

Do you already own a 510 battery? If yes, cartridges are open to you and they are the cheapest way to buy extract by the gram. If no, a cartridge is not a complete purchase — it is half of one, and the other half is a separate item.

That is the whole decision tree for most people. Everything below is detail on top of it.

510 cartridges: cheapest per gram, needs hardware

A 510 cartridge is a small tank of extract with a standardised threaded base. The number refers to the thread: ten threads, half a millimetre apart. It has been the industry standard long enough that essentially any 510 battery fits any 510 cartridge.

The Muha Meds THCA Cartridge 2g is the one we stock — 2 grams of THCA extract, 510 thread, strains labelled Sativa, Hybrid or Indica as the manufacturer classifies them. It needs a battery, and we sell two: the Ooze Twist Slim Pen 2.0 with a 320mAh battery and a Flex Temp voltage dial, and the EF420 Vertex with a 1100mAh battery, adjustable voltage and a preheat setting.

Bought together the first time, a cartridge plus a battery costs more than a disposable. Bought the second time, the battery is already yours and only the cartridge is new. That crossover is the entire argument for the format.

Disposables: nothing else to buy, nothing to keep

A disposable is extract and battery sealed into one object. There is no hardware decision and no compatibility question, which is why it is the format most people start on.

We stock four, and they are not interchangeable. The Muha Meds 2g Disposable holds 2 grams, is button-activated, and has a built-in preheat. The Muha Meds Melted Diamonds Gen 3 holds 3500mg with three voltage settings plus preheat. The Frozen Fields Formula X holds 3.5g of live resin and recharges over USB Type-C. The DOZO Liquid Moon Rocks holds 3.5g behind dual mesh coils, draw-activated with preheat, and recharges over USB-C.

Note that three of those four recharge. A rechargeable disposable is not a contradiction: the battery is there to outlast the extract rather than the other way round, which is the failure that made early disposables so wasteful.

Flower: sold by weight, finished by you

Flower is the format that surprises people who arrive from the vape side of the shop. It is cannabis sold by weight, and as our product pages put it: nothing to inhale until you prepare it yourself. There is no battery, no coil and no charging. There is also no device to fail on you.

We stock four, all from Premium, all sold in 3.5 grams and 1 ounce: Grape OG, Rascal OG, Blue Runtz and Guava Runtz. They differ by genetics, indica/sativa split, bud size and scent — the strain guide below covers what separates them.

Flower is the cheapest entry point on the shelf at 3.5 grams, and by a distance the cheapest per gram at an ounce. What it costs instead is preparation, and usually a grinder and papers.

Edibles: not a vape at all

The TRE House Live Resin Gummies are a cannabis edible — 20 gummies at 35mg each, 700mg of THC-P in total, in a Pineapple Lemonade flavour. There is nothing to charge, nothing to inhale, and no hardware involved.

It is worth stating plainly because the format sits on the same shelf as four vapes and one bag of flower, and it is the only one you can buy by accident thinking it is something else. The piece count and per-piece strength are printed on the product page because the manufacturer publishes them. What we will not tell you is how many to eat — that is precisely the effect claim we do not make.

Choosing, in one paragraph

  • You own a 510 battery already: buy the cartridge. Nothing else on the shelf beats it per gram.
  • You own no hardware and want to buy once: buy a disposable. Frozen Fields and DOZO hold the most at 3.5g.
  • You want the lowest price to try the shelf: flower at 3.5 grams, plus a grinder and papers if you do not have them.
  • You do not want to inhale anything: the gummies are the only format that qualifies.
  • You want a battery you will keep: the EF420 Vertex has 1100mAh and a preheat setting; the Ooze Twist Slim is smaller at 320mAh with a Flex Temp dial.

Common questions

Does a 510 cartridge come with a battery?

No. The Muha Meds THCA Cartridge 2g is a cartridge only, and the product page says so. A 510 battery is required and sold separately.

Will any 510 battery fit any 510 cartridge?

The thread is standardised, so they connect. Whether a given battery drives a given cartridge well is a voltage question, which the 510 thread battery guide covers.

Which format holds the most?

Of the disposables, the Frozen Fields Formula X and the DOZO Liquid Moon Rocks both hold 3.5 grams. Flower is sold by weight up to a full ounce.

Are the disposables rechargeable?

The Frozen Fields Formula X and the DOZO Liquid Moon Rocks both state USB-C recharging. For the two Muha Meds disposables our product data does not state it, so we do not claim it.

Do I need a grinder for flower?

Nothing forces it, but flower is sold as buds and most people grind before rolling. We stock a 40mm four-piece zinc alloy grinder and King Size Slim hemp papers with tips.
