THCA flower strains, and what the labels mean

A flower label carries four separate pieces of information and most people read only one of them. There is a strain name, an indica/sativa split expressed as percentages, a genetic cross, and a description of scent and bud size. This guide explains what each is actually telling you — and then puts our four Premium strains side by side, because they differ in ways the names do not reveal.

The four things on a flower label

None of these describes an effect, and we do not present them as though they do. The indica and sativa labels in particular are widely used as effect shorthand; what they actually record is how the producer classifies the plant. We report the classification because the manufacturer states it.

  • Strain name — a trade name. It is not standardised and two growers can use it differently.
  • Indica/sativa split — a classification the maker assigns, expressed here as percentages.
  • Genetics — the named cross the strain descends from. The most specific and most checkable of the four.
  • Scent and bud size — physical description of what arrives.

Our four strains, side by side

All four are Premium THCA flower, all sold in 3.5 grams and 1 ounce, all shipped in discreet packaging. They differ on every other axis.

Reading the table

Every one of the four is classified as a hybrid, which is worth saying because the shelf can look like a straight indica/sativa choice from the product names. What varies is the lean: Blue Runtz is the most indica-leaning at 65/35, Rascal OG is the only sativa-leaning one at 60/40, and Guava Runtz is an even 50/50.

The two OG strains share OG Kush ancestry and both come in small to medium buds. The two Runtz strains descend from different Runtz crosses and differ on both bud size and scent — Blue Runtz is the only one of the four listed at medium to regular.

Scent is the axis people underweight and it is the one you notice first. Citrus-sweet, earthy-lemon, sweet-sour and fruity-diesel are four genuinely different descriptions, and none of them is a proxy for anything else on the label.

What flower needs from you

Flower is sold by weight and, as every one of these product pages says, there is nothing to inhale until you prepare it yourself. That is the practical difference from every other product on this shelf.

In practice that usually means a grinder and papers. We stock a 40mm four-piece zinc alloy grinder — grinding chamber, screen, collection chamber and scraper — and Everything 420 King Size Slim hemp papers, 32 to a booklet with tips included, gummed with natural Arabic gum and made without chlorine.

Buying by weight

All four strains come in 3.5 grams and 1 ounce. The 3.5g size is the cheapest way onto this shelf; the ounce is substantially cheaper per gram. If you have not had a strain before, the smaller size exists precisely so that finding out costs less.

Common questions

Are any of your flower strains pure indica or pure sativa?

No. All four Premium strains are classified as hybrids. The lean varies from 65% indica for Blue Runtz to 60% sativa for Rascal OG.

What is the difference between Blue Runtz and Guava Runtz?

Genetics, lean, bud size and scent. Blue Runtz is Blueberry x White Runtz, 65/35 indica, medium to regular buds, sweet and sour. Guava Runtz is Guava x Runtz, an even 50/50, small to medium buds, fruity and diesel.

Does indica or sativa tell me what it will do?

It records how the producer classifies the plant. We report the classification because the maker states it, and we make no claims about effects.

What sizes does flower come in?

Every strain is stocked in 3.5 grams and 1 ounce, and ships in discreet packaging.

Do I need anything else to use flower?

It arrives as buds and is not ready to use as sold. Most people want a grinder and papers; we stock a 40mm four-piece grinder and King Size Slim hemp papers with tips.
