On the shelf this looks like the easiest decision in the shop: twice the puffs for a couple of dollars. The Pulse X 2 is rated to 50,000 against the Pulse X's 25,000, and it carries a bigger battery to match. But there is a spec on the older device's page that is simply absent from the newer one's, and it happens to be the spec that best predicts how long a disposable lasts. That absence is worth understanding before you pay the difference.

The missing e-liquid capacity
The Pulse X states 18mL. Geek Bar publishes no e-liquid capacity for the Pulse X 2, so our specification table has no row for it — we left it out rather than estimating, because that number is the one a shopper would actually use.
This matters more than a blank row usually does. A puff count is a rating produced under a test regime; e-liquid capacity is a physical quantity. When the two disagree, the millilitres are the ones that turn out to be true. So the Pulse X 2's headline claim of 50,000 is the only figure describing its longevity, and there is no second number to check it against.
None of which says the Pulse X 2 holds less. It says the older device is the better-documented one, and that if you are choosing on how long it will last, you are comparing a measured quantity against a rating.
What the extra definitely buys
A bigger battery, for one: 1000mAh against 820mAh, both rechargeable over USB-C. That is a real and stated difference.
It also buys the VPU chipset and Binary Halo lighting, neither of which the Pulse X lists. The lighting is cosmetic. The chipset is named without being specified, which is a common pattern on refreshed devices — the name is published, the behaviour is not.
Both run a dual mesh coil and both have the 3D curved screen. Interestingly, the Pulse X publishes dual-core heating and the Pulse X 2 does not, so the newer device is not strictly the more detailed listing in every row.
Both have two modes and both halve
Each device offers a regular and a Pulse mode, and in each case the Pulse rating is exactly half the regular one — 25,000 drops to 15,000 on the Pulse X, and 50,000 drops to 25,000 on the Pulse X 2.
Read that second pair carefully. The Pulse X 2 in Pulse mode is rated at 25,000, which is what the Pulse X is rated at in regular mode. If you intend to run the higher-power mode most of the time, the newer device's advantage narrows to roughly what the older one delivers normally.
Same nicotine, same everything else
Both are 5% / 50mg. Both charge over USB Type-C. Neither publishes a full e-liquid ingredient panel, which is why both product pages tell customers to review the retail package before use.
Nicotine strength is not a variable here, so anyone choosing between these two on strength is choosing on something that does not differ.
